Psalms 24:6 says, "This is the generation of them that seek Him, of them that seek Your face--this is Jacob."
In Genesis 32:22-32 Jacob wrestles with God before meeting with his brother Esau. He was concerned about this meeting because of what had happen 20 years earlier. Jacob was ask the question "What is your name?" In this question, Jacob realized he had been a schemer, trickster, swindler, and the list goes on and on.
God changed his name to Israel, which changed Jacob personally, and launched a new nation into the plan of God.
The youth of this nation has been labeled with many names: loser, drug addict, alcoholic, and as Jacob the list goes on.
Our youth leaders have the privilege of working with this gereration of kids bringing hope and security into their lives. Confidence and security of their idenity will launch this struggling generation into a new day. Being secure of who they are in Christ, and being able to pass the batton to the next generation is the goal of these youth leaders.
They have the opportunity to talk with a leader about their weekly challenges, on a one on one basis ,as well as encouraging insight from God's Word. They will have a time of games, playing music, and snacks. They will also have a time of games, playing music, and snacks.
Generation Jacob meets every other Sunday evening from 5-7pm. You can give us a call about the scheduled times.
This youth group is concerned with each other and no one is "lost in the crowd." Like "Cheers" everyone knows your name.
